Home / Why us?
We often get asked the question, "why should I engage Elliot Johnson over an Insolvency Practitioner?" So while Elliot Johnson can't replace an Insolvency Practitioner in specific roles (e.g. as a liquidator or administrator of a company), we do offer distinct advantages over an IP for the majority of cases.
First and foremost amongst these is the simple fact that IP’s, by the terms of their licence, are bound to represent the interests of your creditors before your own. Now, does this mean that an IP is going to come in and start acting against your best interest right off the back? No, of course not. It does, however, mean that if ever a conflict of interest where to arise an IP is legally unable to support you.
The law does not constrain Elliot Johnson in this way, and our sole focus throughout whichever process we undertake for you is to represent your best interests and get the best result for you. Without someone to represent your interests in an insolvency situation, things can go quite badly quite quickly, and the IP you engaged will be unable to support you properly.
Secondly, our experience sets us apart from most of our competitors. We have over 20 years of experience assisting SME’s with challenges ranging from the setup of a new business to the planned and painless closure of businesses. No matter what stage your business is at, Elliot Johnson has the experience and knowledge needed to help you overcome challenges, plan for the future and grow your company.
Finally, while most of our competitors are large companies and plc's Elliot Johnson are an SME just like you. This means that we have a far more in-depth understanding of the challenges that SME's face because we face them ourselves. We know the solutions to the everyday problems you face because we solve these problems ourselves. Finally, we know how to set an SME up for long term success because we've done it ourselves. Large companies face a completely different set of challenges and requirements, and so have a lesser understanding than people that are actually facing these challenges and meeting these requirements.
